BoA will be on this week’s edition of Talk Asia on CNN International!

Korean pop sensation BoA has been making waves across Asia with her catchy tunes and outgoing personality. She was talent-spotted when she was just 11 years old, and conquered the competitive Japanese market while still in her teens. Now she’s looking to go global with a new album due out soon. She talks to Anjali Rao about the challenges of being a child star, and her plans to branch out into acting.

I wish I had a way of recording this digitally, but I guess I have to settle for a VHS recording.

According to the Talk Asia page the interview with BoA will air Saturday 2 December @ 00:30 and 16:00 (GMT) and Sunday 3 December @ 01:30 and 14:00 (GMT). The CNN schedule for Europe for this week tells you that Talk Asia only airs at 02:30 (CET) on Sunday morning (the night between Saturday and Sunday). This time matches the time in a number of Swedish online TV Guides I’ve checked.

  • Airs Sunday 3 December @ 02:30 (CET) in Europe/Sweden

Next week Ayumi Hamasaki will be on the show.

Talk Asia’s five guests represent some of the country’s most internationally recognized figures, including R&B star Ken Hirai, sumo wrestler Kotooshu, Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto, architect Tadao Ando and pop sensation Ayumi Hamasaki.

  • Ayu’s interview airs Friday 8 December @ 13:30 (CET).

Update 3 Dec: I just watched BoA’s interview. She was lovely as usual. Since BoA mostly spoke in Korean they had a voice-over during the interview as CNN always has. Some of the information was stuff covered in The History of BoA and other places, but some information was new. The quote from CNN above kind of gives the impression that BoA is getting into acting really soon, but that’s not the case. She’s interested in it, but it won’t be any time soon.
