December 2007

I started listening to Kaela Kimura earlier this fall after seeing her in a cameo role in Attention Please starring Aya Ueto. I thought I’d check out her stuff and the rest is history. Here is a clip from her 4YOU concert DVD. Kaela has gone through many styles, but I like the style she has in this concert the most. It’s about the same as in the rirura riruha PV. It’s so cute when she cries in the beginning.

This is the last post of the year. Happy new year!

Each year Ayu releases an über-symbolic ballad PV right before christmas. This time it’s the song Together When…

I love the more symbolic of Ayu’s PVs, and this one is a great example of that. I was so disappointed in her last PV where everything seemed mediocre and fake. I couldn’t make myself post it here. I remember thinking that Together When… sounded nice when I first listened to the song, but the PV takes it to another level. And Ayu looks great in it (just look at the thumbnail below).

One more video is coming up later today or perhaps tomorrow. Then I’ll take some time off from the blog. Don’t hesitate to leave a comment if you find something you like on this site or for whatever other reason. Or click on my YesAsia links before you place your next order.

Soon it’s Christmas! Only one and a half work day left.

To celebrate, let’s watch the music video for HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR’s new song Amazing. It’s another great H&MC song that balances pop and rock in a good way.

OK, last YUI video this week (unless anyone has any requests). This is the PV from YUI’s song Jam. This too is based on a TV rip (can’t remember where I first got it). Now, this PV wasn’t made for playing back on the PSP. The camera is very shaky and there is very high contrast in the video. Because of this you may see some flickering when you watch it on your PSP, but this is because of the PSP screen, not the video itself.

Anyway, I hope someone put some of these videos to use and hopefully there are some new YUI fans out there after this.

Highway chance isn’t really one of my favourite songs, but it’s been playing in my mind recently for some reason. I decided to include a live performance of the song from YUI’s live DVD here.

This was the last live clip. I hope you’ve enjoyed them and, if so, that you buy the DVD.

Rolling star is another favourite YUI song. When they used it for the opening theme for Bleach I used to sing along every time. This is only a TV rip because I don’t have this PV on DVD.

all songs score cover

After I moved a couple of months ago, I bought myself YUI’s score book Can’t buy my love - all songs score (second edition) as a moving in present to myself. I had been trying to play her songs from the movie Taiyou no uta (song of the sun/midnight sun) by looking the chords up on the Internet (I don’t play the guitar especially well). I’ve seen that other J-pop artists have released score books (like ELT and Ai Otsuka), but it’s usually been piano score and I play the piano even worse than guitar, so it’s never been an option.

Here’s YUI performing TOKYO during her recent tour.

Considering the size of these videos I think it’s time to get a bigger memory card for the PSP ;)

TOKYO was the first YUI song I heard. I came across it when a guy asked me to make a PSP version of the PV. It’s a lovely song.

Stay tuned for the live performance of this song that’s coming up tomorrow.

Good-bye days is one of my favourite YUI songs. It’s also one of few songs that I can play on the guitar :) . This is an excellent performance from YUI’s Thank you My teens tour.
