I haven’t written about my figure collection in a while. Since last time I’ve received the Rider figma figure, which is everything I expected, as well as my Hatsune Miku VN02 mix. The “downside” with the Miku figure is that it pretty much needs a shelf of its own, since it’s so eye-catching that it steals the thunder from other figures on the same shelf.

I’ve also put in a few new pre-orders. I hesitated when the Black Rock Shooter figure first came out, since it’s so… loli and dark-ish. Then the black blade version came out, which is even more loli. Then the design grew on me and I pre-ordererd the figma version (late August). Then I couldn’t help myself and pre-ordered the anime version (October). I like the movement in figure (and the cannon). Now I see that the two first versions are available again. The original version will be re-released in December (tempting…).

I’m not getting Dark Rock Shooter’s enemy Dead Master. It looks cool and well made and all, but I don’t know… It’s too bone-y for me.

I also pre-ordered my first Nendoroid in the form of Saber (October). I have thought about getting a Nendoroid before (Shakugan no Shana, Zero no Louise, Saber Lily), but I haven’t ordered one until now. This one is supposed to be more posable than earlier version Nendoroid.

I’m also thinking about this Mercedes figure (from Odin Sphere). At first I thought the Alter version had a kind of awkward pose and that the Yamato one looks pretty good. At least not as bad as others seem to think. But upon closer inspection the Alter version seems to have better colours and nicer wings. It’s being re-released in September, so I might grab one. The display case is getting kind of crowded though.
