Girls’ Generation recenty made their debut in Japan with a Japanese version of their hit song Genie.

While I still like (love) the original more, the Japanese version is really good too.
I like how they’ve changed up the video a little. Not keeping the choreography would have been just wrong, so I’m glad they kept it. I liked the outfits in the original more too, but it would have been extremely boring if everything had looked the same as if they had just made a Japanese voice over of the original video.
I’m not sure about Tae-yeon’s hair style where they’re wearing the green outfits though.

Yeah, they’ve toned down the “military” theme a little. But it’s funny in a way how both SNSD and KARA (in the Japanese version of Mister) have military inspired outfits in Japan when there was a huge fuss in Korea when the (original Korean version) Genie album art originally had a Japanese fighter plane in it (they had to change it before the CD could be released). (Though I can see how it would be more sensitive in Korea)
