T-ara’s new song Roly-Poly (롤리폴리/Lolli-polli) on their mini-album John Travolta Wanna Be has a retro theme. I like it. It’s very addictive! That goes for the choreography too.
This version of the video is called “part 2″, but I consider this to be the “music video version”, because the other versions are the (long) story verson, the stage version and the “world wide” version with clips of fans dancing.
I think Ji-yeon and Eun-jung pull off the theme the best. Hwa-young looks a little awkward somehow. So-yeon’s also great, but she could wear a costume made out of decapitated puppies and I’d still go “awww… wub wub”
.
The mini-album only has two new tracks (Roly-Poly and 진짜 진짜 좋아해), the rest are remixes of songs from Temptastic. The remixes are embarrassing. They all consist of a generic techno intro, then the regular song with a sound effect here and there, then a break, then the regular song and finally some sound effect at the end. 왜 이러니 even starts with some guy going “let the paRRRRRty begin” *shivers*. They should’ve just released this as a two track single. I’m hoping Roly-Poly will be included on their next full-length album.

2NE1’s latest video is fully animated. It’s the same characters that were on the cover of their previous digital single I Am The Best. This video also features guns and it’s so funny when Bom’s character fires the shotgun and it flies out of her hands.
The song itself is a bit plain to me. It has some good parts, but it hasn’t won me over just yet.
I’m looking forward to their next music video “Ugly”. It looks very interesting based on the photos I’ve seen from the shooting. The audio teaser that came out yesterday has dampened my expectations a bit, but we’ll see how it is soon enough. Ugly will be released on the 28th (tomorrow) together with their new mini-album.

I’m having mixed feelings about all the must-have releases being made these days. Or rather, I’m ecstatic about it but my bank account is crying.
Next month SNSD are releasing a DVD set from their first Asia Tour in 2010. I was on the verge of getting the CDs from the concert when they came out, but didn’t get them in the end. But I must have the DVDs! Must have Tae-yeon’s Hush Hush performance on DVD!
The recording is from their encore concert at Soul Olympic Park Fencing Stadium in February 2010. It consists of two DVDs, a concert photobook and a poster (whether or not the poster is included might depend on where you order it from).
The DVD is available for pre-order at YesAsia:

Today I finally got my Dream High DVDs that I pre-ordered ages ago. Both boxes come with a bunch of photo cards.

As you can see I also got a “K” keychain with the same design as the K pendant in the drama, but smaller. At first I thought that perhaps they sent this to everyone since the release was delayed, but then I remembered that there was going to be a “lucky draw” for those who pre-ordered the first volume, and I guess I won!
The keychain comes in a jewellery box. The gift bag is also for the keychain (it says “the kiss” on the back of the amulet too). I didn’t really get why it came with a gift bag until I saw the price tag: 50,000 won. That’s over US$47! I wouldn’t have paid that much.
I’ll probably add more info about the quality of the subtitles later, but judging by the first episode they seem pretty good.

Miss A’s latest song, which is included on their first full-length album A Class. I like the song, but it hasn’t quite caught my full interest yet. I’m digging the album as a whole though.
This music video is kind of slow started. The song doesn’t begin until the 1:36 mark.
The album contains all their previously released song except 딱 마주쳐 from Bad But Good (no great loss) and several new tracks including Good-bye Baby and Love Alone. I’m definitely buying it.
I also recommend Eat Your Kimchi’s review of this video. Very funny!

GO GO サマー! is KARA’s Japanese summer single. It sounds very Japanese, complete with J-Pop guitars and everything.
I like the music video. Very uplifting!
edit: I forgot to mention that KARA are making their Korean comeback in September.

Until now, the only MBLAQ related posts I’ve made have been other artists’ music videos where MBLAQ member Lee Joon has been one of the actors. Here’s what they look and sound like on their own. Mona Lisa, as requested by joonxfan95.

Is it just me or does the guy with the red jacket (G.O.) look a bit like Rain here?
Speaking of Mona Lisa, I saw the painting Mona Lisa when I was in Paris in June. Everyone has been telling me how it’s so much smaller than they expected, so to me it was bigger than I expected

2NE1 are back with more bad-assery. This song is called 내가 제일 잘 나가 (I am the best). I like listening to it while driving. When I first heard the song I was like “what’s up with this ‘boom ra-ta-ta-ta’ stuff?”, then I saw the end of the music video
.
The wardrobe they use for this song is pretty awesome. And their hair-dos. I dig CL’s devil hair
. I don’t know what’s going on with Dara’s ice cream helmet though.
There’s also a Japanese version of the song. Or perhaps it’s better described as the multi-lingual version. The 내가 제일 잘 나가 part is kept in Korean and then they’ve replaced the Korean in the rest of the song with equal parts Japanese and English.
The video content is pretty much the same in both versions.

At Music Bank a couple of weeks ago, f(x) and 4Minute mixed it up and performed the other group’s song. f(x) performed Mirror Mirror and 4Minute sang Pinocchio (Danger).
Which group do you think did the best job (disregarding Hyun-a’s microphone problem)?
My vote goes to f(x).

In this clip IU performs Good Day in pouring rain. But sings as if the sun was shining. The background music volume is a quite low, so you can hear her voice well. The recording is from MBC Changwon 1st Anniversary Hope Concert. I shortened it in the file name.
When I first watched this clip I thought “wow, she’s performing in the rain?!”. Then I thought of the audience who had been waiting in the rain, for what I guess was a long while, to see IU. Then I was hypnotized by IU’s charm
.
It’s so funny because at the beginning of the video you’re like “wow, it’s really pouring down”, but then it picks up and rains even more towards the end
.
