It was recently announced that the song that SNSD will continue their promotion in Korea with is the Korean version of Mr. Taxi. A re-packaged version of the album will be released on December 7th.
I like Mr. Taxi and it hasn’t been promoted much in Korea, but I was expecting the re-packaged album to have a brand new title track (and a couple of extra songs), like on the previous albums. I don’t know what the Mr. Taxi version of the album will be like, except that it will have a Mr. Taxi themed packaging. I mean, the song is already on the regular album.

IU’s new album is out and immediately all tracks from the album topped all Korean digital charts. IU is so popular now!
I’ve pre-ordered the album on CD, but I downloaded it too last night. Unfortunately I forgot to transfer it to my iPhone, so I’ll have to wait until tonight to listen to it.
The music video for the song You & I (너랑 나) was also released today. It’s really well made.

IU looks so cute (as always)! The choreography resembles the one in Good Day quite a bit. It has a very similar feel to it.
“Future IU” looks so pretty with the short hair! Kind of like she had in Boo.
I’ll post a downloadable video later.
A nice interview with IU about her comeback and future

I’ve just started watching the Korean drama series Mary Stayed Out All Night (매리는 외박중). It’s also known as Marry Me, Mary, but I prefer the more literal translation. I’ve been meaning to watch this drama for a while. The main reason being that the protagonist is played by Moon Geun-young.

I’m only two episodes in (out of 16), but I like it a lot so far. The tone of the drama is light hearted. There are dramatic and sad parts, but over all it’s a cute story that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy
. Basically it’s about Mary, who has quit her studies because she can’t afford her tuition due to her dad’s debts, which are mainly due to his being conned. One night she runs into (literally) a musician named Mu-gyeol, played by singer/actor Jang Geun-suk. In order to make sure Mary has a good life (and finances), her father arranges for her to marry Jeong In, the son of a rich old friend of his. Mary opposes this and asks Mu-gyeol to pretend to be her fiancée to make her father drop the plans of an arranged marriage.

Today Girls’ Generation won Music Bank’s K-chart for the 5th week in a row with The Boys!
They beat the Wonder Girls with only 123 points. I knew it would be close, but I was hoping SNSD would win again.
Look at Tae-yeon and Tiffany at 0:59
. Tae-yeon has such funny expressions. I also liked how they joined in the fan-chant during the encore (2:00).

I was thinking about you guys when I was in Korea. Not only did I swipe some Innisfree pamphlets
, but I also bought two SNSD photo sets to give away. The photos were bought at Everysing in Myeongdong, Seoul, which is an official SM Entertainment store, so the photos are all official items.

Since I couldn’t come up with a competition, I thought that I’d just make a raffle. To enter you can do the following: […] there’s more! »

SNSD has two Japanese releases coming up. One is their first Japanese photobook, called Holiday. The other is a release of their first Japanese tour on DVD and Blu-ray. The blu-ray is supposed to be region free. I must have it, but it’s so expensive! There’s also a limited edition, which is even more expensive.
One of the reasons I want this blu-ray: […] there’s more! »

IU’s official site at Loen has been updated with the full tracklist of her upcoming Korean album Last Fantasy along with audio samples.

The site takes forever to load, though (probably due to heavy traffic). When the song has loaded you should be able to play the audio sample by holding the mouse pointer over the padlocks, which will turn into a play icon and the sample will play. They were supposed to release two samples per day, but I can only play track one (the suitcase) right now.

4Minute are back… in Japan. Ready Go is their latest Japanese song, which is used as a theme song for the drama Welcome to the El-Palacio. The single will be out on December 7th.
They’re really playing the sexy card in this video. 4Minute have been doing hot videos for a while, but this time it’s noticeably more cleavage-y than before
.
I can’t wait to see them perform in Paris in February

SM Entertainment recently released a Girls’ Generation game for iPhone developed by dooub. I didn’t post about it right away, because I wanted to try it out first.
It’s a music game similar to DJ Max Portable and, to a lesser extent, Guitar Hero. You’re supposed to hit notes as they fall on the screen. The difference is that it’s a smart phone game, so sometimes you have to touch the note and slide it sideways or shake the phone to hit certain notes. All this to songs from SNSD’s latest album The Boys. There are two game modes: Tap (which is what I described) and Shake, where you rotate a disc clockwise and counter-clockwise instead of tapping. Both modes have “shake notes”, where you have to shake the phone.

The app is free to download, but you only get “short play” of a few songs. To unlock “full play” and all songs, you have to make an in-app purchase called “6 songs package”, which costs $4 (update: now there’s a package called “9 songs package” which contains the first 6 songs + the 3 songs in the Mr. Taxi package). Without that package it’s more of a demo. You can download the app in the App Store and try it out.
When you play the game you unlock different cards, […] there’s more! »

IU is gearing up for her Korean comeback as well as her Japanese debut. These are the known dates for the releases.
Nov 22nd: Tracklist for Korean comeback album
Nov 29th: Release of Korean comeback album
Dec 14th: Release of Japanese pre-debut album
Jan 2012: First official showcase in Tokyo
Feb 2012: Release of first Japanese debut single

The tracklist for her Korean album isn’t out yet, but it’s called Last Fantasy, so I’ll venture to guess that the title track is called Last Fantasy, which will also be included on the Japanese pre-debut album I□U. That would mean that the only new material (assuming you own all the Korean stuff) on the Japanese pre-debut album is the documentary DVD.
