This is Reina Tanaka’s latest DVD Real Challenge (cover to the right) in PSP format. It’s a mix of making of footage from her latest photo book Very Reina and other things she did when they were shooting in Hokkaido. Such as eating seafood, cooking, making butter, etc. A thing that hangs over Reina throughout the video is that she has to memorize the names of the cities in Hokkaido. If she can’t do it, there will be a penalty

It’s coupon season at YesAsia, so I’m taking this opportunity to buy some stuff that I’ve wanted but haven’t bought yet. It’s my annual tradition to try to plan my purchases to get the maximum benefit from the coupons. This, together with my new Reina obsession has made me want to get her latest photo book Very Reina.

A couple of days ago I received my biggest order of figures to date. Now I’ve taken a few photos of them after I’ve unpacked them. I took some quick shots in daylight on top of one of my cupboards.

Let’s start with the Eye Up 1/8 Yoko figure. I’m very happy with this figure. Yoko and Mao were impulse buys that I added to the order right before it was shipped. I really like the pose, her expression and how dynamic it feels. It has a couple of small flaws. (more…)

Now, finally, some previews of BoA’s 2009 calendar have surfaced. My first impression is that this year’s (2008) calendar is much nicer. The 2009 calendar reminds me a bit of the 2007 calendar’s sport theme. BoA looks great as usual, but the theme doesn’t really add anything. To me it’s more of a distraction. I mean, all I want are nice photos of BoA. Preferably without a big horn in the way.

I’ve just uploaded 80 pictures of Korean actress Han Hye-jin (한혜진) to the gallery. I started at 300 and tried to select only a few. At 80 I gave up

Hye-jin is the star of the drama Be Strong Geum-soon that I’m currently watching on DVD. It’s a great drama.

Guess what? I’ve finally taken some photos of my Another Blood figure. This figure is sculpted by Wu Boo Hong for Max Factory. This was the first figure I ever pre-ordered (or, when I think about it, it’s the second - I pre-ordered the Revoltech Pocco figure before this one). I just had to have it.

The photos perhaps look a little dull with the black background. I wanted to try black, but I’m not too sure about the results. I also couldn’t choose which photos to post, so I ended up posting all of them. You can pick which ones you want to look at

There were some rumours flying around before the summer about BoA planning to make her debut and release an album in the US. This has now supposedly been confirmed by SM (her Korean label) at a press conference on 2nd September. There’s no word yet as to when the debut would be made. BoA is supposed to hold a press conference about this on the 10th September, so there should be more info on this soon.

BoA’s 2009 calendar is available for pre-order. I loved the 2008 calendar, previous calendars not so much. The cover looks good, but I think I’ll wait until I’ve seen more pictures before ordering it. It looks promising though. It will be available on October 4th.

Yuko Fukudome continues to be very popular (in the statistics for this site), so I thought I’d post a selection of scans from her photo book 17-sai no live that I ran into (I didn’t scan them myself).
