Here 4Minute wins MNet Countdown with Mirror Mirror (거울아 거울아). It’s their first win since their comeback (they’ve won before though with Muzik and Huh).

They had to change up the choreography because the part where they spread their legs was deemed inappropriate for television and they wouldn’t be allowed to perform if they didn’t change it. This performance has the revised choreography.

I like it, but mostly the 거울아 거울아 part and the electronic sound. I don’t think the melodic parts fit all that well actually. Sorry for being so negative about 4Mintue’s new stuff, but it’s just because I like them. If I didn’t like them I wouldn’t care enough to complain .

I haven’t rated any of the songs from their new album on my iPod yet, except Already Gone, which I enjoy. I think that’s my favourite track on the album, although I heard it before on their Japanese album Diamond. But I guess that song wouldn’t be ideal for promoting with stage performances.

Hyun-a is back in her natural element (sexy dancing and posing) in this video, so she’s more easily recognizable than the cutesy Hyun-a in Heart To Heart. And, for the record, she says “4 minutes left” at the beginning of the song.

Speaking of mirrors, I was listening to a Korean language podcast a while before 4Minute’s comeback and one word I thought I’d never be able to remember was 거울 (mirror). I think I’ll remember it now .

Heart to Heart is 4Minutes latest mini-album. The music video focuses on Hyun-a and Jung-shin from C.N.Blue.

What can I say? This isn’t the comeback song I had expected from 4Minute. After hearing the teaser for “4 minutes left” (the first (intro) track on the mini-album) and seeing the dark/mature STEAL 20 concept photos I expected something else. Perhaps more like their previous Korean album HuH.

The intro to Heart to Heart instantly made me think of another song. Perhaps Miss A’s Bad Girl Good Girl. Although my initial disappointment has subsided, the chorus of Heart to Heart hasn’t grown on me yet.

The girls look great in the video though, especially Hyun-a and So-hyun. And it’s nice to hear their voices without heavy auto-tune effects.

Apparently the teasers were intended for an album with the actual title STEAL 20 called “4Minutes left”, which is supposed to be released any day now. Last I heard, it’s a full length album. We’ll know soon enough. I’m hoping for a different (more 4Minute-y) sound on the full album.

Update: the album is available for pre-order now. Apart from the second title track Mirror Mirror, it seems like most of the songs that weren’t on the mini-album are from their Japanese releases.

4Minute are making their comeback in Korea very soon with a new album. They’ve posted a teaser sound bite on their official site along with the title “STEAL 20″. I don’t know if that’s the actual album title or just the concept name.

They’ll release a teaser video tomorrow and the album will be released on the 29th. Really looking forward to it!

Looks like April is going to be the big month of K-Pop girl group combacks, with 4Minute, f(x), 2NE1 and others making their comeback.

FIRST is 4Minutes latest Japanese song. It has a different sound from 4Minute’s other songs. At first I thought it sounded like a song written for another artist that was then “4Minute-ified”.

The song is pretty catchy though, and it gets better with each listen.

Notable in the video is that Ji-yoon now has long hair and there’s an “interesting” choreography .

This live performance takes an ugly turn when a floor panel gives way and So-hyun trips and has to grab a hold of Ji-hyun to avoid falling to the ground (at 1:23).
