Girls’ Generation

Surely you’ve heard about SNSD’s American network TV debut. Yesterday they made an appearance on Live With Kelly and the night before they were on Letterman to promote the release of the US version of The Boys.

On Letterman they performed a remixed version of The Boys. By the way, I can’t look at Bill Murray any more without thinking of Zombieland  .

On Live With Kelly they performed a shortened version of the original mix, followed by an short interview.

I prefer the morning show appearance, since they performed the original version (although, in English, of course) and that there was an interview, which I felt gave off a positive image of the girls.

Tae-yeon peas in a pod selca

Tae-yeon uploaded a new selca to her UFO Star Call account the other day. It’s a new picture of her with her peas in a pod plushie. So cute! :D

She has uploaded a picture with the plushie before too and many airport photos show her carrying it with her. She actually has a whole bunch of them because when fans saw that she liked them, they bought more of them (mostly smaller ones) and threw them up onto the stage, like at SMTown New York:

I have to share these photos of Tae-yeon from SNSD’s concert in Hong Kong last Sunday. Unbelievably adorable! XD

They’re taken by Flying Petals. This is the page where I got them. There are even more pictures there.

Here are some messages from the artists that are performing at Music Bank Paris in February, just to hype it up a little :) .

I need to share this clip from Tae-yeon’s solo performance of the song I Love You (사랑해요) earlier today in Osaka. The song is from the soundtrack of K-drama Athena: Goddess of War.

I get goosebumps when Tae-yeon is on the verge of breaking into tears when singing “I’m sorry, I’m sorry”, but then powers through it. So intense and moving!

Every day I long for you
That’s how my day goes by
Where are you?

I’m sorry, I’m sorry that I can’t forget you
My love come back to me
Don’t leave my side, please

Oh, and if someone sitting within punching distance pulls that laser douchebaggery at Music Bank Paris… well, consider yourself warned.

I finally got my SNSD Japan Tour blu-ray. Oh, man! I have to get up early tomorrow, so I can’t watch it. I just watched the intro and two songs and it’s very difficult for me to hit the stop button… OK, three songs. Mr. Taxi came on :) . Aaaah! Tae-yeon’s wink! *melts* How am I going to be able to sleep now? “I’ll just watch one song” sounded like a good idea at the time :) .

As I expected, the quality of the video production is much much better than the Korean concert DVDs. It’s not just that it’s HD. It’s more well thought out.

The outfits are divine! Oh, man! They all look super pretty!

I didn’t blog about it, but I wrote on Facebook about how my PS3 broke down before new year’s. I wasn’t really in a hurry to replace it for gaming (although I use it a lot for that purpose), but it’s also my only blu-ray player and with this concert blu-ray expected to arrive any day, I had to go into town the following morning to buy a new PS3 XD.

I just got the regular version blu-ray (expensive enough as it is + the limited edition was sold out). There’s no real booklet, just a set list, inside the case. The disc had come loose during shipping, but it wasn’t scratched (phew).

OK, I managed to force myself to stop the playback. I’ll watch the rest tomorrow.

edit: I posted more reflections in the comments below.

The music video for the Korean version of Mr. Taxi has been released. Hold your excitement though (if you were expecting a new studio video), it’s “just” live footage from their tour.

Does this mean that they’ll be releasing their Korean tour concert on DVD/blu-ray as well? I hope so (my wallet doesn’t). I’m still eagerly awaiting their Japanese tour concert blu-ray, which was shipped a few days ago. My expectations are sky high for that one. Japanese concert DVDs are usually very well produced.

It was recently announced that the song that SNSD will continue their promotion in Korea with is the Korean version of Mr. Taxi. A re-packaged version of the album will be released on December 7th.

I like Mr. Taxi and it hasn’t been promoted much in Korea, but I was expecting the re-packaged album to have a brand new title track (and a couple of extra songs), like on the previous albums. I don’t know what the Mr. Taxi version of the album will be like, except that it will have a Mr. Taxi themed packaging. I mean, the song is already on the regular album.
