SNSD

Time Machine is SNSD’s latest Japanese track. It was included on the repackaged version of their Japanese debut album along with the Japanese version of The Boys. The song itself has been out a long time, but the music video was just released.

The most prominent features of the video are Yoon-a in the snow, Sunny in the rain and Tae-yeon’s gorgeousness. Yu-ri also looks great. Well, they all do. You know how it goes :) .

The song starts out nice, but the chorus sounds so-so to me. It’ll probably grow on me as I listen to it a bit more (it kind of already has). I like the verse — and the video. They sing about regrets and wanting a time machine, but the end of the video shows them crying  (울지마세요!) and then picking them selves up and moving on. I guess that’s the thing to do when your pleas for a time machine go unanswered :) .

I saw that a Korean release of the repackaged Japanese album came out last month. I might pick it up, since it’s more affordable than the Japanese version.

Today is Kim Tae-yeon’s 23rd birthday. I thought I’d celebrate by wearing my “309″ Tae-yeon beanie today, but I wear that every day so I’m making a Tae-yeon related post too :) .

Let’s start with her awesome Devil’s Cry (intro to Run Devil Run) performance from SNSD’s Japan tour DVD (long overdue):

Tae-yeon is my favourite K-Pop artist. On so many levels — she has it all. I’ve seen her (and the rest of SNSD :) ) three times so far. […] there’s more! »

Today when I got home from work, feeling a bit under the weather, I checked my mail box and saw a package slip. “I haven’t ordered anything…” I had forgotten that I made a K-Pop/K-Movie order a week ago, so it was a pleasant surprise :) .

I got T-ara’s latest mini-album Funky Town, the Mr. Taxi version of SNSD’s The Boys and the movie Sunny. I got the Tae-yeon (Toy Story) peas in a pod plushie a while back, but it made its way into the picture anyway :) . […] there’s more! »

Last week I went to France to see a horde of K-Pop artists perform at Music Bank in Paris. A total of eight groups performed: Girls’ Generation, T-ara, 4Minute, Sistar, SHINee, U-Kiss, Beast and 2PM. I went there mostly for SNSD, T-ara and 4Minute.

I flew to Paris the same day as the concert. I had already been there for SMTown back in June, so I felt like I wouldn’t have any trouble finding my way around the city. Besides, I had booked a numbered seat for the concert. I had a seat for the first day and a standing ticket for the second day. Unfortunately the second day of the concert was cancelled. It would’ve been great to do both.

The venue was much bigger than SMTown. The good seats at SMTown were much better than the good seats at Music Bank. While SMTown was more intimate, everything at Music Bank went very smoothly. They didn’t have much concert goods though.

It was nice to see so many groups, but since there were so many of them they didn’t perform that many songs each. SNSD didn’t perform until the very end, so it felt like they didn’t get enough time on stage. […] there’s more! »

Surely you’ve heard about SNSD’s American network TV debut. Yesterday they made an appearance on Live With Kelly and the night before they were on Letterman to promote the release of the US version of The Boys.

On Letterman they performed a remixed version of The Boys. By the way, I can’t look at Bill Murray any more without thinking of Zombieland  .

On Live With Kelly they performed a shortened version of the original mix, followed by an short interview.

I prefer the morning show appearance, since they performed the original version (although, in English, of course) and that there was an interview, which I felt gave off a positive image of the girls.

Tae-yeon peas in a pod selca

Tae-yeon uploaded a new selca to her UFO Star Call account the other day. It’s a new picture of her with her peas in a pod plushie. So cute! :D

She has uploaded a picture with the plushie before too and many airport photos show her carrying it with her. She actually has a whole bunch of them because when fans saw that she liked them, they bought more of them (mostly smaller ones) and threw them up onto the stage, like at SMTown New York:

I have to share these photos of Tae-yeon from SNSD’s concert in Hong Kong last Sunday. Unbelievably adorable! XD

They’re taken by Flying Petals. This is the page where I got them. There are even more pictures there.

Here are some messages from the artists that are performing at Music Bank Paris in February, just to hype it up a little :) .

I need to share this clip from Tae-yeon’s solo performance of the song I Love You (사랑해요) earlier today in Osaka. The song is from the soundtrack of K-drama Athena: Goddess of War.

I get goosebumps when Tae-yeon is on the verge of breaking into tears when singing “I’m sorry, I’m sorry”, but then powers through it. So intense and moving!

Every day I long for you
That’s how my day goes by
Where are you?

I’m sorry, I’m sorry that I can’t forget you
My love come back to me
Don’t leave my side, please

Oh, and if someone sitting within punching distance pulls that laser douchebaggery at Music Bank Paris… well, consider yourself warned.
