Last week IU released a new single in Korea called Spring of a twenty year old (스무 살의 봄), which consists of three songs. The title track Every end of the day (하루 끝), IU’s own composition Peach (복숭아), which had a digital release before the full single release and finally I really don’t like her (그 애 참 싫다).

IU isn’t promoting these songs on the music shows as she’s focusing on her upcoming solo concert, but Every end of the day still topped the online charts when it came out.

As the title of the single suggests, IU turns 20 this spring. In Korean age, that is. She turned 19 in “western age” on the 16th. Spring of a twenty year old is also the title of a short film which was released instead of a normal music video. It starts out in a documentary style where you get to follow IU during various activities, mixed with a personal interview. The second part is more of a short film of her trip to Venice, Italy. It also doubles as a music video for Every end of the day.

You can watch the film in its entirety here (no subtitles):

I made some clips for the music parts (three of them, keep scrolling :) ).

This is kind of random, but I just had to post this video from Girls’ Generation’s Japan Tour DVD. It’s a clip that they ran between songs, which shows Key from SHINee and how the world appears to him when he’s gotten a ticket to see SNSD live. It’s so funny :) . The best part is when he does the heart symbol to “Tiffany” .

I’ve written snippets about the Korean movie Scandal Makers before. Now I want to show you a clip where Park Bo-young, who plays Jae-in/Jeong-nam in the movie, sings* the song 아마도 그건 (amado geugeon). I really like this song.

When this song came on the first time I wached the movie, I had to rush over to my CD shelf to pull out Park Hye-kyeong’s album When a Woman is in Love, because I recognized the song and knew I had it on CD. I didn’t know the title, but I could hear Hye-kyeong’s voice when I thought about the song.

I think the original artist for this song is Choi Yong-joon (최용준) (that’s what they say in the movie). According to the tag in the mp3 from the soundtrack it’s composed by 박병규.

*I think it’s actually sung by someone called Hong Min-jung (홍민정) here. She’s the one who sings on the soundtrack and the vocals sound just the same as in the movie.

Here’s the song from the soundtrack:

Last night I was randomly browsing through my music videos and I came across this PV of Tomiko Van. I had downloaded the video ages ago, but I had never watched it. The song must be a cover, but I don’t know the composer or original artist. I just recognize the song from the Korean/Japanese movie 26years diary anata wo wasurenai, starring (among others) Maki Onaga (翁長麻紀) of High and mighty color. I have had this song on my mind from time to time after watching that movie, so when I watched this video I was like “it’s that song!!”. The song is called Cherry (チェリー).

I don’t know if Van-chan’s way of singing suits the song, but it’s a good song none the less.
