Merry Christmas! (yes, in Sweden we celebrate on the 24th)

Ji-young of KARA recorded this X-mas song with Sung-je of Supernova. Prepare for cuteness overload :) .

I don’t have this video for PSP at this time, so I’m linking to a youtube clip. I hope the link works. I’m writing this in advance and the record companies seem to be having some kind of X-mas special where they make youtube pull all videos.

Just so you don’t miss out, here’s an mp3 too ;)

I’m using this song as wake-up signal on my phone now, during the holidays. A good way to start the day.

It’s a bit funny how all these X-mas songs sound like Last Christmas

Raven was released on Do As Infinity’s single Yesterday & Today back in the year 2000 and was later included on their first album. The song was used in the closing credits of the movie Uzumaki. I bought that movie on DVD years ago, but I still haven’t watched it  . It seems creepy.

I should probably warn sensitive viewers that the music video contains many clips from Uzumaki, which is a horror movie.

It’s not so much the video I want to share as the song itself (although Van-chan looks great in the video). It’s one of my favourite DAI songs.

The reason I’m posting this “all of a sudden” is that this song came up in a random playlist I was singing along to a while back. I really like it, especially chorus and the contrast between the verse and chorus. Singing along to this song works great as a tension releaser (for me at least).

Cabi Song is a part of a commercial for a Korean water park called Carribean Bay and is a collaboration between SNSD and 2PM.

Most prominent in the video is Yoon-a, Yu-ri (featured in the thumbnail image) and then Seo-hyun, but some of the other girls can be seen in the party scene too. And there are some guys from 2PM for those who’re more interested in that ;) .

So, who do you think is the “hottest cabi”? *cough*Yu-ri*cough*

I also thought that you might enjoy the song as an MP3:

It’s actually quite catchy.

Here’s a teaser for Girls’ Generation’s next album (and title track) Oh!

Some of the outfits are the same as they used for their Asia tour posters.

I’ve written snippets about the Korean movie Scandal Makers before. Now I want to show you a clip where Park Bo-young, who plays Jae-in/Jeong-nam in the movie, sings* the song 아마도 그건 (amado geugeon). I really like this song.

When this song came on the first time I wached the movie, I had to rush over to my CD shelf to pull out Park Hye-kyeong’s album When a Woman is in Love, because I recognized the song and knew I had it on CD. I didn’t know the title, but I could hear Hye-kyeong’s voice when I thought about the song.

I think the original artist for this song is Choi Yong-joon (최용준) (that’s what they say in the movie). According to the tag in the mp3 from the soundtrack it’s composed by 박병규.

*I think it’s actually sung by someone called Hong Min-jung (홍민정) here. She’s the one who sings on the soundtrack and the vocals sound just the same as in the movie.

Here’s the song from the soundtrack:

You and I

This isn’t really my genre, but You and I by Park Bom (박봄) has really grown on me. The music video plays a big part in that I think.

You and I is a digital single and is, as far as I know, pretty much impossible to buy legally if you’re outside Korea (or other countries where it’s on the music charts), so here’s the mp3:

I hope she releases a solo album too.

Update 2009-11-05: I replaced the MP3 with a new one (better quality).

I think that this song was requested here. I don’t know if you still want it, sorry it took so long. Anyway, here’s Etude:

By recommendation I recently started watching the Japanese drama series Mop Girl (モップガール) starring the lovely Keiko Kitagawa. It’s only ten episodes long, so it won’t take long to finish it, but I’m enjoying it.

  • Mop Girl Wallpaper
  • Mop Girl Wallpaper

The story is about Momoko, who has the ability to travel back in time if she touches the belongings of someone who has died, so that she can try to prevent their deaths. Kind of like Tru Calling, but Mop Girl has a more feel-good quality to it. It’s a mix of comedy and drama.

It’s called Mop Girl because … Continue reading

It’s been a while since we heard anything from HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR. They’ve now released their first single featuring their new vocalist HALCA. I suppose it’s a digital single, since I haven’t seen it in any stores.

So what do you think about HALCA? She sounds somewhat similar to Maki. I don’t feel the same “presence” that Maki had, but perhaps it’s just this song. I would love to see a (video recording of a) live performance.

Their next album Swamp Man will be out in September.

Have you heard Younha’s version of Girls’ Generation’s song Gee? You can listen to it in the YouTube video or MP3 below.

It’s a nice performance and everything, but ultimately it adds nothing to the original. It’s just an acoustic arrangement, but the song is sung pretty much the same way as Girls’ Generation’s version, which makes it kind of boring.

I just had to get that off my chest :) . Don’t get me wrong. I like Younha. But this version is like *yaawn*
